In search for Dream House, that never ending chain. Streets around every cornes, easy to find. Church street proved to be much harder to locate. Manhattan seemed such a maze heavy on the soles of the shoes. Infinite stroll, following the call, call of eternal soundwaves in & out the days thru´weeks thru months thru years.
Hidden beneath a coctail lounge, jazz restaurant bar and a fancy store almost invisible at first, a door with a paper on the window
Dream House , no advertising, relying solely on that those who search will find
doorbell an a note, to wait for the buzzer as the door is opened long staircase invites, slightly muffled one can hear the call of the eternal drone , climbing while the sound comes near come hither, come inside – this is the home.
During our third visit in New York we stayed at hotel 309 ,14 th west st, so we walked almost everywhere in Manhattan. When we walked to dream House, we noticed it is a new installation. It wasn´t any radical new concept, more that magenta lights were renewed.
We stayed about two hours there this time. There was one girl in smaller side all that time, we were almost the only ones enjoying massive sine waves surrounding you. Somehow when you move slowly in the room, the sound is slowly changing constantly. It is difficult to notice differences and you need to concentrate and sensitively feel the sound. Some people were photographing there, hope they had a permission for that, because it is forbidden to do that there.
